From the Principal

Mr Elson

Hello Gympie, East parents, carers and community,

Welcome back to a busy Term 2. Added to that, we also have a number of days off school with Easter Monday, Labour Day and the Gympie Show holiday. This is even more reason to please try and have students at school as much as possible. We are also coming into winter when students can start to get sick. If they are sick, we are happy for them to stay home and recuperate but please avoid keeping students' home because they don’t feel like going as this can cause more anxiety by getting behind in their schoolwork. Everyday Counts.  Please also ensure jumpers or track suit pants are green and are clearly labelled with their name.

PBL

Our focus for this week has been ‘Report Issues’. If there are problems in the playground or with another student, it is important that these issues are reported so they can be sorted out. Issues can fester and get worse if not addressed. We are also happy to receive emails from parents to discuss issues, so we can get on the front foot and solve them quickly. Our PBL focus for Week 3 will be ‘Walk on steps and pathways’. There are many concrete paths around the schools that people use to get around. It is important that students are not running to prevent them running into people on the pathways. Thankfully we have a huge oval that students can run on to their hearts content!

Before & After School Care

Please support this great service. They have low numbers and are at risk of closing with your support.

Thanks
