A big thank you for all that participated in Parent Teacher Student Chats. It was great to observe our teachers, students and families engaging in a meet and greet. We know that student growth happens best when school and home work together. That’s why our recent Parent–Teacher–Student chats were so meaningful. They weren’t just meetings on a calendar — they were powerful moments of connection, reflection and shared commitment.
These conversations are especially important within Learning Diversity. Each child’s profile is unique. When families share insights about strengths, challenges, motivations, and strategies that work at home, it deepens our understanding and strengthens the support we provide at school. The most effective plans are built collaboratively and your partnership makes that possible.
For some students, these conversations continue through our PSG (Program Support Group) meetings, where families and staff work together to develop and review targeted learning plans.
A PSG is a collaborative meeting that brings together parents/carers, classroom teachers, Learning Support Officers and the Learning Diversity Leader to plan and review the support in place for a student who requires additional adjustments to their learning or wellbeing. These meetings ensure that adjustments are personalised, strengths-based and responsive to each child’s needs.
PSGs provide an important opportunity for open communication, shared decision-making and partnership between home and school. Together, we celebrate progress, discuss goals and ensure students are supported to engage fully in learning and school life.
Families participating in PSGs will receive a notification in the coming weeks inviting them to book a suitable time via the Compass App.
