Sci Tech

Hi All,

We have had a fantastic and positive start to our SciTech program, with students already demonstrating curiosity, creativity and a willingness to explore new ideas. It has been wonderful to see students engaging enthusiastically in the scientific process — asking questions, making predictions and beginning to investigate how the world around them works.

During the first week, we established expectations for working safely and collaboratively in the SciTech space. Students have explored how our school values support productive teamwork, the respectful use of equipment, and a supportive environment where everyone feels confident to experiment, test ideas, and learn from mistakes.

Throughout the term, students will participate in hands-on Science and Technology learning experiences that encourage inquiry, problem-solving and the use of digital and practical tools.

In Year 3 and 4, students will investigate how forces — including frictional, gravitational, electrostatic and magnetic — can act on objects through contact or from a distance, and how these forces influence the speed and direction of movement.

In Years 5 and 6, students will explore electrical energy by investigating materials that act as electrical conductors or insulators. They will also examine how energy can be transferred and transformed within electrical circuits, and how individual components work together to make circuits function effectively.

Our goal is to provide a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to take risks, think scientifically and apply their understanding to real-world situations.

If you have any questions about our SciTech program, please don’t hesitate to contact us at school.
