Family Support Drop-In Service- Kim Kemerer

 

We’re pleased to let our families know that Kim from Meli is available to support parents and carers through the local Family Support Drop-In Service in Golden Plains.

 

Kim offers a friendly, confidential and flexible service, guided by the needs of each family. After an initial chat, she can help identify helpful supports, provide practical strategies, and connect families with the right services.

 

How Kim can support families:

  • Chatting through parenting challenges, including big feelings, tantrums and tricky behaviours
  • Supporting parent wellbeing and self-care
  • Providing guidance around cyber safety and school avoidance
  • Linking families with disability supports, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Connecting families to mental health, alcohol and other drug services
  • Assisting with housing support to help create safe and stable home environments
  • Providing information and warm referrals to family violence services, and helping parents understand the impact on children
  • Linking families to financial counselling and budgeting support
  • Offering advocacy and support with services such as Centrelink
  • Assisting with communication with utility companies or banks
  • Referrals for legal information
  • Help completing important paperwork (for example, birth certificate applications)
  • Supporting CALD families to learn about and access local services

     

Kim is currently based at the Bannockburn Family Services Centre on Mondays and is also happy to offer phone appointments if that is easier for families.

Foodbank at TPS

Dear Parents and Carers,

 

We are pleased to let you know that Teesdale Primary School is participating in the School Breakfast Clubs Program, delivered by Foodbank Victoria in partnership with the Victorian Government.

 

This program operates in over 1,000 Victorian state schools and helps ensure students have a with a full stomach, ready to focus and get the most out of their learning. Through this initiative, our school receives a range of healthy and nutritious food at no cost. Please see the attached information outlining the food provided as part of the program.

As part of our involvement, we will be offering:

 

Snacks

  • A selection of healthy and nutritious snacks for students, including a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables available in classroom spaces.
  • Snacks will be distributed to classrooms to ensure all students have access during eating times.

     

Home Food Packs

  • Free Home Food Packs containing a selection of items from the program, available to support families as needed.
