Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy end of Term 3!
Term Three has been full of wonderful learning and many special events. The students have been engaged in great learning in and out of the classroom with many grades enjoying excursions to enhance their understanding of key concepts. We also had chickens hatching in Year 1 and ducklings hatching in Kindergarten. One-hundred Days of Kindergarten, Bookweek, St Martha's Feast Day and Fathers' Day celebrations were all highlights. Students participated in the Network public speaking competition and the Invictus Challenge. Many students from St Martha's made their First Holy Communion over the last few weeks. The Masses were beautiful and the children were excited to receive Jesus for the first time. Our parents have been very active in attending events as well as assisting with excursions and in the classrooms. We particularly thank our reading helpers who make a great contribution to the development of our students' reading skills. Our sincere thanks to the P&F Committee for their continued support in all we do and to all our volunteers who help in numerous ways. The cake stall yesterday was a great success as a fundraiser and as a way to promote community spirit. To cap off the term we welcomed our Kindergarten students for 2024 and their parents in small group orientation sessions. Please make sure you visit our Facebook page to recap the highlights of the term.
I will be away for the first two weeks of Term 4 for a family wedding in Western Australia. Mr Belcastro will be leading the school in my absence. I hope that you all have a safe and restful holiday break and look forward to seeing everyone when I return in Week 3.
Peace and best wishes
Carolyn Parsell
