Stage Three Camp

Stage Three Camp

The students in stage 3 have been very lucky as they were able to camp at Milson Island in week 5 of this term.

There were lots of activities on offer and the students enjoyed every one! They went BMX bike riding - travelling over several tracks with different difficulties and explored the depths of the island. Students also went on a bush walk. On the way they explored deep sandstone caves - holding remains of old prisons and discovered an old nurse and maid quarters. When they reached their destination, the students cooked damper over a fire they attempted to make themselves and afterwards, ate it with delicious golden syrup.

Friends got to battle each other, and their teachers, in Archery Tag. Students had to shoot the opposing team with rubber arrows. Another challenge was to build a raft and solve a riddle to get all of the items placed on top, safely across the pool.

On the last day, all students came together to compete in an Amazing Race! This included starting a fire, archery, orienteering and best of all, the keeping a water balloon safe the entire way through!

All students loved the activities, but not as much as they enjoyed bunking with their friends! There were 4-8 kids in a cabin and 7 cabins in a lodge (including one for the teacher). Every night, when the students had finished showering, they could spend the remaining time until dinner relaxing with their friends. Students could play tennis and basketball and use any of the equipment that was provided!

After dinner everyone went into the recreation hall and played night games until it was time for lights out.

Everyone had a great time and they all are hoping that next year is just as great.
