Psychology Eye Dissection

Unit 2 Psychology – Eye dissections 

In our Unit 2 Psychology studies we have learnt about the eye and how it supports our vision. We were lucky enough to be able to perform eye dissections to gain a greater understanding of the eye’s structure and mechanics. 

Whilst some students absolutely love dissections and exercise an amazing level of dexterity, there are other students who prefer to watch from the opposite side of the room.  The highlight was locating the lens, removing it and using it to help enlarge the newspaper print.  This gave us insight into how the lens can change its shape to focus images on the retina.
