What a last few weeks in the land of Heathmont Sport!

Year 8 Boys Hockey competed in their EMR event 12th October. The boys achieved their best result under the guidance of Fiona Adams and Lachlan Hunter. Winning and drawing against some tough competition. We hope that this group of boys continue to sign up for Hockey over the next few years and grow as a team. 

Heathmont had students compete in Eastern Metropolitan Region Athletics at Knox Athletics Track on 9th October. Well done to all that competed and we came away with some fantastic results. The students conducted themselves amazingly well. It was an event that had it all if something was to go wrong it probably did. From wind blown tents to balls travelling across the track and having to rerun races. Our girls relay was unfortunately affected by a random ball rolling across the track and some quick thinking leaping from Merinda kept the girls in it to finish 2nd. 

From EMR we had 5 students qualify to compete at State Athletics.

• Maya Arendt – 20yr Girls 100m Hurdles 

State Athletics was held 16th October at Albert Park. The weather was not kind and the students had to deal with the ever-changing Melbourne Weather the 4 seasons in one day held true.
