Principal's News

Dear families,

It was wonderful to welcome many grandparents and other special friends of our students to our liturgy and for them to spend time in classrooms with the students. Thank you to Mrs Whatmore and all the staff for making the morning so welcoming. We were blown away by the huge turnout and the incredible energy across the classrooms during this special morning.

We are very excited with the St Mary’s Art Show coming up on Thursday 26th October 5pm-8pm. Thank you again to the incredible parents who have given their time to assist with preparing artworks for display. As well as a wide range of artworks created by each student in the school, students at different year levels have been busy preparing performance items to share with the school community on the night. Families are able to purchase tickets through CDF Pay.

  • 1 Adult x $15
  • 2 Adults x $25
  • 3+ Adults x $35
  • Free entry for all students and children under 18.

Simply present your ticket at the main door (printed or screenshot) when you arrive. Families will be provided with a map of the gallery spaces and times for performances throughout the evening.

Please also bring along gold coin donations for our buskers and Prep portrait painters. There will also be a sausage sizzle and refreshments provided by the PnF which can be purchased separately.

Thank you to the parents who have generously given their time in helping Mrs M in backing artworks and to the many parents who have been contributing to our raffle hampers for the night being organised by the PnF.

School Review & 2024 Planning

As we rapidly head towards the end of the school year, the school is currently undertaking forward planning for 2024, involving the school's Business Manager Bronwyn Burroughs, our  School Advisory Council and the staff Consultative Committee.

This week we also undertook our four-year school review, with our external reviewer Craig Tanner spending two days at the school, meeting with various stakeholders. Through Craig's interactions and observations around the school, he found St Mary's to be a warm and welcoming school, with high levels of respect and support for all. From this review Craig will present a review document to the school's Leadership Team and School Advisory Council in November, which will identify strengths and opportunities for the school and key recommendations that will be used to develop our school improvement plan for the next four years.

School Closure Days

There are two school closure days this term; Monday 6th November and Monday 27th November. Their Care will be offering Out of Hours Care on both days.
