Scholastic Book Fair

THE BOOK FAIR IS BACK AT HOLY SPIRIT!!

Our awesome P&F committee has organised for the Scholastic Book Fair to visit Holy Spirit on Monday 30th - Tuesday 31st October. (It has arrived and it looks awesome!)

What does this mean?

Students will have the opportunity to browse the Book Fair, during school hours, on Monday and complete a 'Wish List' of books and other items they may be interested in purchasing, if they would like to. These wish lists will go home with the students on Monday evening.

Then what?

The Book Fair will be open on Tuesday 31st October at the following times:

  • 8:30am - 9:30am
  • 2:00pm - 4:00pm

The Book Fair will also be available online for purchases, if you wish. These can be completed via the QR code that will be on the back of your child's 'wish list'.

We are also opening the Book Fair on Monday 30th October from 10am - 12:00pm for Grandparent's Day.

If Grandparents wish, they are more than welcome to purchase items from the Book Fair for their grandchildren. There will also be an option to purchase books for our School Library in their grandchild's name. A recognition sticker will be placed in all books donated to the school library from our grandparents.

If you do choose to make a purchase, or our grandparents make a purchase, all proceeds from the Book Fair will be 'turned' into Scholastic Rewards and will be used to purchase new Literacy resources (school readers and books) for our students at Holy Spirit.

Please note there is absolutely no obligation to purchase any items from the Book Fair. You are more than welcome to come and browse the Book Fair if you wish.

A HUGE thank you to Lauren and Sarah from our P&F for their organising, assistance and expertise in helping with our Book Fair this year.

Premiers' Reading Challenge

We have not forgotten about our amazing and dedicated students who completed the PRC earlier this year. We are waiting certificates of achievement to be sent to the school before we recognise these students appropriately and deservingly.

Stay tuned for further information ... fingers crossed these certificates arrive soon!!

Thanks so much for your patience, we appreciate it.

3-6 ICAS

A big congratulations to all of our students who completed the English and/or Mathematics ICAS assessments this year. We are very proud of all that you achieved and hope you are too!

Storybox Library

Holy Spirit have a subscription to an online resource called Storybox Library. This platform provides access to an incredible amount of storybooks read by actors, politicians, authors, to name a few.

The best thing about Storybox Library is that you can access it at home too:

The Library will be open to our families, before school, on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week, from 8:35 - 8:50am. You are welcome to visit Trish in the library to read with your child or borrow a book.

Our library will be closing for stocktake at the end of November. We encourage you to please make the most of using this resource until that time.

Assembly

Please check the school calendar for the class presenting at assembly each week. Assembly will be held each week at 2:30pm.

Have the best fortnight!!
