Online Safety

The safety and wellbeing of our students both inside and outside of school is our top priority. In today’s digital age, it is essential to promote safe and responsible use of the internet and online platforms.

To support families and students in navigating the online world safely, we have compiled a range of valuable resources and information that you can access at any time:

Important: New Social Media Age Laws

Recent changes to online safety laws have introduced stricter regulations regarding the minimum age for children to use social media platforms. In Australia, the minimum age for children to legally create accounts on many social media services is now set at 13 years or older, reflecting the terms of service of popular platforms and new government regulations designed to better protect children from online risks.

Parents and carers are encouraged to carefully monitor their children’s social media use and ensure that younger children do not create accounts on these platforms prematurely. We also recommend discussing the importance of privacy settings, respectful behaviour, and how to seek help if they encounter harmful or inappropriate content.

We encourage you to explore these sites and discuss online safety practices with your children regularly, including privacy, respectful communication, and how to report concerns or harmful content.

If you have any questions or would like further support, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Together, we can help create a safer online environment for our students.
