F-2 Athletics Morning

On Friday 31 October, the students in Fdn - Yr2 will be having a ‘Mini Athletics Morning’ held on the school oval. We will focus on participation and encouraging students to do their very best while enjoying the morning.

The students will participate in a variety of events starting from 9.15am and finishing just before 11.00am. The students will compete in modified running events, hurdles, long jump, shot put and discus.

Please note, there is no ‘winner’ awarded as such, as mentioned above, the focus is purely around participation and enjoying the activities.

We encourage students to wear their house colours on the day

  • Clare- yellow

  • Francis- green

  • Backhaus- blue

  • Mackillop- red

This can include ribbons, face paint, coloured t-shirts etc. The students will participate in their year level.

It would be great to see as many parents there as possible cheering and encouraging the efforts of all students.

We hope it will be a nice day for the event.

We will also have a coffee van for you to enjoy!

Thank you for your support.

3V3 Basketball State Championship

On Thursday the 25th and Friday the 26th of September Eme Arundell 6C, Chloe McSwain 6C, Darcy Rodda and Indie Colley (Spring Gully student) competed in the State 3X3 Cup at the State Basketball Centre, Melbourne.

We qualified for the State Championships by winning the Shepparton qualifying tournament.

Our pool games consisted of 6 x 10-minute games that had high energy and intensity. The 6 games were against, McKinnon Cougars (lost 5-6) Dandenong Rangers (Lost 4-6) Craigieburne Eagles (Win 13-8) Nunawading Spectres (Lost 4-7) Casey Cavaliers (Win 8-5) and Traralgon T-Birds (Overtime Win 6-4)

We then qualified for finals. Our first final we played Geelong United who didn't attend the championships so we won by forfeit. The round of 16 final was against Frankston Blues which we lost in a tight game, 10-7, so we didn't progress further in the competition.

Overall we finished 12th in the state, and we were very happy with our performance. It was a great experience for us and one we really enjoyed.
