Month of the Rosary
October is a special time in our Catholic tradition as we honour Mary, the Mother of Jesus, through the prayer of the Rosary.
Classes have taken time to pray together, reflect on the mysteries of the Rosary, and grow in their understanding of Mary’s role in our faith. We invite families to continue this beautiful tradition at home, joining us in prayer and reflection as we journey through this sacred month.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Thank You for Supporting Crazy Sock Day!
A huge thank you to all our students, families, and staff who took part in Crazy Sock Day on Monday 20th October!
From stripes to sparkles, polka dots to pom-poms, your wild and wacky socks brought colour, laughter, and compassion to our school. Together, we raised awareness and funds for the Catholic Education Foundation, helping support students in need across our Catholic schools.
Your enthusiasm and generosity remind us that every step counts and every sock tells a story of love, inclusion, and community spirit.
Thank you for walking with purpose and showing that kindness never goes out of style!
The Christmas Story Art Competition & Exhibition
In 2025, we celebrate 20 years of artistic, religious and educational achievement through The Christmas Story visual arts exhibition and competition. This initiative invites Year 5 and 6 students from Catholic schools and Catholic students in state schools to explore and express their understanding of the Christmas story through art.
Drawing inspiration from the Sydney Religious Education Curriculum and the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, students reflect on the birth of Jesus and share their creativity with the wider educational community. It is a wonderful opportunity for children to grow in faith and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
Here are some artworks from students who entered, showcasing their thoughtful and imaginative interpretations of the Christmas story. We are proud of their efforts and the way they have brought this sacred story to life through visual storytelling.
- Mabel - Gratefulness: This artwork shows Mary praying on the night Jesus was to give birth to Jesus. Mabel used acrylic paint, oil pastels, watercolour and metallic stars on black paper to create a peaceful night scene. “I tried to make it so you can visualise if you were there on that night sitting next to Mary at the stable.”
- Riley - Mary Light Of The World: This painting uses acrylic and pointillism to show Mary’s journey to Bethlehem. Riley used colour and expression to reflect Mary’s strength, uncertainty and hope as she prepared for the birth of Jesus. “I'm naming this after mothers that always care about us and give us light to the world.”
- Almudena - Escape to Egypt: This painting uses sketching and watercolour to show Joseph leading Mary and baby Jesus out of Bethlehem. Almudena used soft greys and expressive faces to reflect the fear and faith of that moment. “God is loving, and here with us through difficult times.”
- Charlotte - The Visitation of the Angel Gabriel to Mary: This mixed media piece uses watercolour, acrylics and anime-style drawing to show the moment Mary was told by the angel Gabriel that she would be the mother of Jesus. Charlotte used colour and expression to reflect Mary’s surprise and courage. “Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favour with God.” — Luke 1:30
- Scarlett - Starry Night: This artwork uses cyanotype printing, metal stars and plants to create a striking night sky. Scarlett was inspired by the shepherds who followed the Christmas star and trusted the angels’ message.“I wanted to signify how the shepherds were unsure at first but saw the Christmas star and trusted in God.”
- Poppy - Travelling to Jesus: This painting uses watercolour and acrylics to show the Magi travelling through harsh conditions to reach Bethlehem. Poppy used shading, bold colours and symbolic gifts to reflect their determination and faith.“The Magi did this by working hard for six days in the dead of winter with nothing but a star to guide them, determined to worship the son of God.”
