Message from the Principal

Dr Andrew Cousins, Principal

Dear Parents and Carers

Over the recent school holiday period, a number of campus improvements were carried out to further enrich the learning and co-curricular environment for our students.

Projects completed or underway include:

  • Pre-Prep/Prep Centre Refurbishment and Landscaping

The spaces have been refreshed with new laminate flooring and thoughtful updates to the staff room and kitchen. In addition, the garden beds have been replaced and replanted, creating a welcoming and colourful entrance to the Centre.

  • Foundation Digital Scoreboard Installation

A new 3.1 metre LED scoreboard has been installed in the Ida Kennedy Physical Education Centre. Featuring multi-sport software (Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Netball and more), a touch-screen tablet for remote scoring, and full video capability for training and events, this scoreboard supports our growing co-educational sports program and enables us to host BBI tournaments in the future. This project was made possible thanks to the generosity shown on Giving Day 2024.

  • Foundation Courtyard Development

Work has commenced on the new Secondary School precinct near THE EDGE, including building rendering and ground preparation. This exciting initiative is a direct result of Giving Day 2025. The project will be finalised during Term 4, and we look forward to its unveiling.

  • ICT Office Expansion and Upgrade

Improvements have been made to the ICT Office to support our growing team and enhance the overall Helpdesk experience for students and staff.

  • Tennis Court Lighting Preparation

Initial works have begun to enable future evening training and matches.

  • Pool Centre Upgrades

There have been continued rectification and enhancement works to improve this vital facility.

  • Boarding House Grounds Work

Tree lopping to maintain safety and aesthetics across the grounds.

  • Main Oval Long Jump Pit Upgrade

Improved facilities to support our athletics program.

We gratefully acknowledge the Clayfield College Foundation for their generous and timely support in making some of these projects a reality. The immediate reinvestment of Giving Day funds into high-impact initiatives has allowed us to deliver tangible improvements that directly benefit our current students and staff.

A special thank you to our Facilities and Maintenance Team, led by Mrs Trudi Woodhead, Operations Manager, for their dedication in helping progress and preparing our campus for the return of staff and students.

We look forward to a wonderful term ahead, made even more vibrant by these recent enhancements.

Warm regards
