Level 1

Level 1 students have had a wonderful first few weeks back at school. It has been fantastic to see students returning refreshed after the holidays, ready to take on their last term of Level 1 learning.
A reminder that hats are a requirement for the entirety of Term 4. If your child does not have their named broad-brimmed hat at school yet, please send it to school ASAP.
Swimming
Our school swimming program at Aquanation has been a huge success! Students have absolutely loved their time in the pool, embracing every challenge with enthusiasm and determination. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they build new skills, support one another, and show fantastic resilience, even when they’re feeling a little tired! We’re so proud of the positive attitudes and energy students have brought to each session.
Literacy
In Reading and Writing, students have been exploring narrative writing, focusing on identifying and developing the problem in a story. Using the short film Partly Cloudy as inspiration, they learned to ‘show, not tell’ by using actions, dialogue, and setting to express feelings. Their creativity shone as they planned, revised, and shared their rewritten story sections.
Maths
In Maths, students have enjoyed sorting, collecting, and recording data in fun, hands-on ways. They sorted classroom items, gathered class data on favourites, and represented results using tallies, lists, and pictographs, building confidence in explaining and comparing information. Students have also been re-visiting concepts relating to place value, sorting and ordering 3-digit numbers, creating models using MAB and breaking numbers into hundreds, tens and ones.
Inquiry
This fortnight in Inquiry, students began their Geography unit on natural disasters, exploring how events like floods, bushfires, and droughts change the land. They also identified natural, managed, and constructed features in their own environments, making real-world connections and showing curiosity through thoughtful discussion. Students have loved learning about the impact of bushfires on natural environments. They explored what to do if they need to call Triple Zero and role-played fire safety ideas such as 'stop, drop and roll' and 'get down low, and go, go, go'.
