Performing Arts in Term 4

Term 4 is a very exciting time to be in the Performing Arts program at HEPS. 

Students are busy preparing for our end of year Christmas Concert, with the Christmas Carols a-flowing from early October. Apologies, parents. 

Foundation - Grade 4

Foundation - Grade 4's are learning through a Kodaly - based program, utilising traditional folk songs and music games to learn the fundamentals of music literacy and understanding. The kids are loving these games and songs, and they've seen a dramatic increase in their musical understandings and abilities. 

Students are showing their understanding of the number of sounds per beat, as illustrated in some of their amazing work below:

Grades 5 & 6

Grade 5 & 6 students have just wrapped up a unit on the song 'Peas Porridge', where they learnt the technical skills needed to perform each individual part of the song, working towards their small-group band performances. Students performed last week, with some amazing music skills and creativity on display! Well done to everyone, it was so joyful to see the students present their work. 

Instrumental Music Lessons

Learning a musical instrument is a wonderful way for your child to develop all manner of skills and neural pathways in their brain.
