We're a great mix in Level 6!
It’s hard to believe we’re already in Week 4 of our final term in Level 6! The term has started with great energy as students continue to approach their learning with enthusiasm while also looking forward to the special events that come with their final year of primary school. There’s a lovely balance of focus, fun and anticipation across the cohort.
During reading lessons, we have explored the history of climate change, examining its causes and its impact on biodiversity. This week, we delved deeper into global warming and the greenhouse effect, learning about how human activities contribute to these changes and what can be done to reduce their impact. Students have engaged thoughtfully in discussions and shown great curiosity as they make connections between what they read and the world around them.
We have continued to work enthusiastically on our scrapbooks, reflecting on our time in primary school. Last week we focused on Level 2 and we are now capturing memories from our Level 3 year. It has been wonderful to see the effort students are putting into their writing pieces and how creatively they are decorating their pages to make them visually appealing. See below for a sneak peek at their fantastic work!

Last week, we completed our unit on Mass and began our new topic in Financial Mathematics, starting with percentage discounts. This week, we are exploring how to calculate the original cost price of discounted items, as well as profit, loss and budgeting. To finish the week, students will take part in a fun, graduation-themed budgeting task where they will plan a celebration within a set budget — applying their financial skills in a creative and practical way!
