Reading

Over the last fortnight, we have continued our novel study of Hatchet. To help us make real world connections to this realistic fiction text, we are researching an area of interest to us, related to the text. Some examples are Survival and Adaptation, Culture and Geography, Planes and Emergencies. 

Writing

This week, we are focusing on wrapping up our persuasive skills (ask us about whether we think all kids should walk to school or not!) and completing some short writing activities. Our goals for our writing for the rest of the year include using paragraphs and including correct capital letters every time!

Maths

We are loving learning all things money at the moment! From counting money to calculating change to rounding and estimating using money, we are using real world skills in the classroom.

Swimming

Our biggest focus this week is of course, SWIMMING. All students have been so independent and responsible every day looking after their belongings, interacting with their swimming teachers respectfully and improving in this vital and life-saving life skill each day. Also, most importantly, they have been having fun!
