Primary SRC Disco
At the end of last term the Primary SRC hosted a disco for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. There was a huge number of students who attended and dressed up as their favourite movie character. Students danced, played games and had a great night. Well done and thank you to the SRC students involved and to everyone who helped out on the night.
Stage 2
This week, Stage 2 began investigating the fascinating world of symmetry. Students explored how shapes, patterns, and objects can be divided into equal and matching parts, and they enjoyed discovering examples of symmetry all around them — from nature to architecture and even in their own faces!
To put their new mathematical understanding into practice, students created a unique piece of artwork using photographs of themselves. Each photo was cut in half, and the students then carefully drew the missing side to complete a symmetrical image. The results were both creative and impressive, showing how mathematics and art can work beautifully together.
All of the students were highly engaged and took great pride in their finished pieces. It was wonderful to see them apply their mathematical knowledge in such an imaginative way — proving that learning about symmetry can be both educational and fun!
