Welcome to Week 6, Term 4!
It was great to have our Kindergarten students visit again yesterday and we had a nice BBQ to welcome all kindergarten students and their families to our school. They all seemed to really enjoy spending time with their teachers and getting to know each other.
Tell Them From Me Survey Results
Last week I mentioned that I was going to share the results of the Tell Them From Me Parent Survey with you. Today I will show you the results of the first two measures, Parents Feel Welcome and Parents are Informed.
Parents Feel Welcome
As you can see, this year we scored 8.7 out of 10 in this measure up from 8.4 last year. There was improvement in the areas of Teachers listen to concerns I have, and I can easily speak with the school principal (that's good!). We are also pleased to see that the information that we send home is clear and easy to understand.
Parents are Informed
Last year we scored 6.6 in this measure, so this year's results are very pleasing. We showed significant improvement in all areas, something that we have been very conscious of trying to do.
Christmas Party and Fireworks
Not long now to the Christmas Party. There will be:
- BBQ
- Disco
- Dunking Machine
- Chocolate Toss
- Duck Races
- Tombola
- Various Stalls
Santa will be visiting at 7.00pm and the evening will conclude at 8.00pm with the FIREWORKS.
Today an "Insight" was sent out via COMPASS calling for parent helpers, so please support your P&C by lending a hand.
Gaga Pit
Over the weekend Nathan Kentwell was able to finish off the Gaga Pit, Year 6s gift to the school. The staff and students really appreciate the work that Nathan and his family have done for this project. As mentioned previously, thanks also to Dan McLean for the concrete work and Adrian Cuttle for the earthworks. There's still some finishing touches to be made, but the students are able to use it.
Infants Choir Assembly/Grand Parents Morning
Next Friday, 29th November the infant's choir will be performing at assembly. We would also like to invite to the school your child's grand parents. They can come a bit earlier at 12.00pm and visit the classrooms and read a book with their treasured ones, and then attend the assembly at 12.30pm.
Celebration Of Learning
This year our Celebration of Learning Assembly will be held on Friday 13th December starting 10.00am. Class awards, major awards and Year 6 graduation certificates and book awards to all students in Kindergarten to Year 2 will be presented. Parents will be notified shortly if your child will be receiving one of the class or major awards.

You Can Do It! RESILIENCE
The Resilient Lifesaver can help you stay afloat when faced with stress.
Steps for Strengthening Your Resilience
- Prepare means you are transparent about what event or person is stressing you out. You decide ahead of time on the positive ways you’d like to feel and behave to make the problem go away – if possible!
- Self-talk is the private conversations you have with yourself. The key here is to eliminate negative thinking and replace it with healthier, more positive thoughts.
- Coping skills are the little things you can do to keep calm and relaxed.
- Action is how you deal with a stressful event and solve the problem so that it reduces in size or disappears altogether.
Resilience means being strong, positive and having self-belief. It’s not something you are born with. The good news is that we can all learn to be more resilient. Remembering The Resilience Lifesaver can help.
