School Ground Upgrades – with a Biodiversity Twist!
Join Us – Frog Bog Working Bee
As mentioned in the last newsletter, FPS has received $4730 from the Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grant. With this funding, we are creating a Frog Bog behind the Wingrove Campus transforming it into an outdoor learning area focused on biodiversity.
The first stage is to dig the hole and prepare the area. We’d love for any interested people to join and help!
- When: Friday 15 November, from 3:30pm
- Where: Behind the Wingrove St Campus
- RSVP: Send Amelia an email if you can attend.

A New Seat from Upcycled Materials
Have you seen the new gabion seat? It's a fantastic addition to the playground! This structure not only serves as a garden edge and a comfortable seat, but it also functions as a bug hotel, enhancing the ecosystem in the schoolyard.
The bricks used for the gabion seat were all second-hand and painted by the community at ART FOR ALL. We’re also planning to plant the garden bed with species that will attract insects and pollinators, further enhancing the local ecosystem and supporting biodiversity in the schoolyard.
Thank you to FPS parents Di Edwards and Martin Caves for making the seat, and thank you to everyone who decorated a brick!
