Rejuvenating Our School Uniform for 2025 – We Thrive in a Team Culture
After extensive consultation with students and parents, we’re excited to announce some minor updates to our school uniform for 2025. These changes focus on refreshing the P-6 girls' skorts and tracksuit pants for both sexes, based on student preferences.
The school uniform policy will be strictly enforced starting in 2025, with only approved items to be worn by students. Items purchased to mimic the school uniform will not be accepted.
To support students, each family has access to the School Saving Bonus of $400 to assist with purchasing uniform items. If any family is facing difficulty in meeting the uniform requirements, we encourage you to apply for assistance through State Schools Relief.
Our Year 6 school leaders will be expected to set an example by adhering to the updated uniform policy and modelling positive behaviours for the rest of the school community.
Workforce Planning – We Are Here for the Students
As we approach the end of the year, we bid farewell to several beloved staff members. After many years of dedicated service, Ms. Marina Kallinikos has decided to retire. While we will miss her presence at Kingswood, we are hopeful she will continue to contribute as a casual relief teacher in the future. On behalf of the school community, we wish her a fulfilling retirement.
We also extend our best wishes to the following staff members who are moving on to new schools: Mrs. Emily Lestrange (Baxter Primary), Mr. Gerard Parker (Southmoor Primary), Ms. Fiona Theodoris (South Oakleigh Primary), and Ms. Ilisa Cooper (Keysborough Primary, 12-month leave). We are excited to welcome back Mrs. Lisa Devereaux and Mrs. Amy Hardie after their family leave, and we look forward to their continued contributions in 2025.
New Classes for 2025 – Lead the Way
On Tuesday, 10th of December, students and parents will receive information about class placements for 2025. A lot of thought and careful consideration has gone into creating these placements, using various data points and evidence to ensure the best possible outcomes for every student.
We understand that some may feel disappointed by their child’s placement. Please use this as an opportunity to teach resilience and emphasize that not everything will go exactly as planned in life. We ask that you, as parents and carers, continue to promote a positive outlook to your child, reassure them that feeling nervous is normal and if there are specific concerns raise them with the new teacher at the beginning of 2025. We kindly ask that you avoid sending emotionally charged emails to the school or staff by 3:40pm. By modelling how to manage emotions, we can set a positive example for our children.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
