BBPS Life

Ms Walker with her festive Preps

Farewell to the Grade 6 Class of 2024

Graduation was a brilliant success, with families and BBPS staff celebrating the journey of this incredible cohort of students from tiny Preps to teenagers ready to embark on new adventures in high school. The graduation lunch was a highlight, with our fabulous parents decking out the hall in a sporting theme.  African drumming and heartfelt speeches rounded off an emotional day with our students taking to the stage to say their official farewells at our graduation ceremony.

Grade 6 completed their skateboard project earlier this term and they were showcased at their graduation. We love them! Take a look below:

The Traditional Teachers Vs Students Netball match took place on Wednesday.  Despite valliant efforts our departing students did not manage to defeat our reigning champions, the BBPS teachers.

Bayside Dance Off

On Friday, 3 groups of dancers represented BBPS at the Bayside Dance Off at Hampton Primary. It was an amazing day and they all danced wonderfully. Congratulations to our Grade 4 dancers who won their section. Here are some lovely words from our grade 2 dancers -

Isabelle  - I was a bit nervous but once I got there I started feeling better. When I performed in front of the audience, I felt really confident. I was really happy because we got a medal. Didn't matter if we won or not, it's all about having fun!

Willow - When I was getting in the car, I felt nervous because I knew there was going to be so many people. There were so many people cheering us on when we did our dance, even though we didn't know them. It was great fun!

Flossy - I felt a little nervous at the beginning, but I realised that I had nothing to fear. I was competing against one of my friends from another school. I loved performing on the stage and dancing with my friends.

Colour Run

Congratulations Vivi F

Vivi's mum wrote to us and we are delighted to share it with you:

We wanted to share Vivi's amazing achievements at the recent School Sport Australia track and field championships in Sydney where she represented Victoria and her school.

She ran big PBs and came home with a gold medal.

800m - 5th (Time 2.28.  Very fast running especially the NSW girls.  The winner broke the national record)

1500 - 5th (Time 5.02.  Smashed her PB by 17 seconds)

Medley relay (she ran the 300m last leg) - 1st

She also showed great sporting conduct through out the championships with all the team Vic athletes and those from other states.  We are very proud!

Hi BBPS, my name is Vivi and I am in year 4, going into year 5. Two weeks ago I had nationals in NSW. We were competing against all the states in Australia. It was 6 days of getting injuries and getting ice packs, being wet and being nervous. The first day I had the 1500m and I came 5th. I was so happy with myself. The next day I had 800m qualifier to get into the finals and I got 2nd by a millisecond so I made it into the final. The next day I had the final and I was nervous but I knew I had to do it and I got 5th. "Yay!", I said. Then I had the medley relay, which has four people and every one runs a different distance. I was the last runner so I felt the pressure and we came first! We were sparkling with happiness! I would like to say thank you to my VIC coaches and to BBPS for the support and encouragement. Thank you.

Around the School

Louis created this beatifully crafter and written story book to read to his buddies in Grade 1.

Grade 2 students wrote and performed their own Christmas play. They entertained other students with their clever performances.

Prep students are learning to be waste warriors, cleaning up the yard at recess and lunch time. A fine example of school pride in action.
