Our Grade 5 students say "Be and upstander, not a bystander"

Our Upstanders message is officially public. Well done to all our grade 5 upstanders on this year’s project. The “Mascots” will be rolled out in January at the following locations for each school:

  • Brighton Beach Primary -  Brighton Library
  • Beaumaris Primary - Beaumaris Library
  • Sandringham Primary - Sandringham Station
  • Hampton Primary -  Hampton Library
  • Sandringham East -  Highett Station

The accompanying activations for the mascots with the YoumeciBand will be at the following times and locations if you would like to come along and be involved – no bookings required:

Step, jump, skip, dance or walk on chalk drawings of colourful Yomeci creatures on the footpath. In YomeciBand, the footpath becomes a musical track, playable with your feet. Tunes and compositions are activated in an improvised exchange with passers-by as they move across clusters of pavement drawings of creatures. In temporarily activating a street through making it playable, the work connected people and place through urban play and creative technologies.

Wednesday 22 January: Brighton Library - 11am – 1pmhttps://www.bayside.vic.gov.au/explore-bayside/events/yomeciband-playable-arts-brighton-library
