Message from Bev and Kim

The Run 4 Fun  - Thanks BBPS for taking it to the next level!

Congratulations to our Grade 6, we wish you every success in the years to come.

It has been a wonderful week of celebration – a big thank you to our grade 6 parent graduation organising committee for such a wonderful lunch event last week, and to Shanti and Mark for their outstanding facilitation of the Grade 6 graduation ceremony. Also thanks to our PA, especially Annali and Belinda, for our Run4Fun event - check out BBPS Life for a showcase of our end of year events.

To the class of 2024, thank you for all that you have brought to BBPS. Your sense of humour, your creative genius and your courage to have a go!

To our grade 6s and other students that we farewell this year, take our 6Rs with you, wherever life may take you and remember, once BBPS… always BBPS.

Reports went live earlier this week – please download your semester reports from Compass to keep somewhere safe – this is especially important for those students who are leaving us – reports will not be accessible after tomorrow for leaving students.

Students met their 2025 teachers this week!

We send our warmest BBPS farewells and thanks to our leaving staff members, Kirsty Walker and Jack Wilmott.

A big congratulations to all our Grade 5 students, who this week found out their 2025 Grade 6 leadership roles. A special congratulations to Zoe and Josh, school captains for 2025.

Sincerest thanks to all our 2024 Grade 6 leaders, and to Gigi and Ethan for their outstanding work as school captains this year.

Ethan:

Over the course of 2024 I have changed a lot. I have matured, and grown as a person. I have expanded my knowledge and have gained some wisdom as well. During 2024 I have watched as my friends and other students have cared for one another and learn from each other. In 2025 I am looking forward to going to a new school and experiencing all that high school has to offer. I wish everyone at Brighton Beach a happy festive season and a successful 2025.

Gigi:

I would like to thank all of the Brighton Beach Families for always supporting the school and students. Something I have noticed over 2024 is how the BBPS community really pulls together to make a difference. I would like to thank my friends for always being there during the highs and lows of primary school. The staff at this school have also helped me to develop my confidence over my 7 years here at BBPS. I hope that in the future of BBPS the school and student continue to work together to make our community the best it can be.

Schools Saving Bonus: This week, if you haven’t already, you will receive an email containing 1 School Saving Bonus voucher code per child. Where a family has multiple students, you will receive multiple emails each with a unique code. These vouchers are to be used for 2025 costs.

You can access the https://vimeo.com/1032194830to assist with navigating the online system.

Families will have 3 options:-

  • Use the voucher code provided in your email, or the QR code in the online system to complete in-store purchases at a nominated supplier.

  • Select PSW, select an amount, receive a voucher code compatible with the supplier’s online store, and complete an online purchase with a nominated supplier.

  • Select an amount to be allocated to school activities – school activities are detailed in the Parent Payment Contributions under the ‘Extra Curriculum activities and items’ section, distributed on Monday.  You might like to access these early to inform your decision - jump on our website to find them.

If you choose an amount for this option, you will only need to consent to Compass Events during the year.

Senior schools students (Yr3-6) can allocate their voucher to camp costs if preferred under the ‘school activities’ button.

Any funds unallocated with remain as a credit on your account until you spend it.

NOTE: Families need to review these choices carefully. Once an allocation or voucher purchase has been completed, it cannot be reversed.

If you have any issue accessing the School Saving Bonus portal please email school.saving.bonus@education.vic.gov.au .
