Remembrance Day

We invite you to join us for our Remembrance Day ceremony on Monday, 11th November at 10:50am. Please sign in at the office upon arrival and make your way to the Avalon Court stage. This year, our House Captains will lead the whole school assembly, whilst our School Captains represent our school in attendance at the Cheltenham RSL service.

Merchandise for the Poppy Appeal is available from the office using cash only. Items are $2, $3, $5.

We look forward to coming together as a school community to remember and honor those who served. Lest we forget.

Working Bee

We’re gearing up for our upcoming Working Bee on Thursday, November 16th, and we warmly invite families to volunteer any of their time between 9am and 12pm. Our main project will be clearing the area off the Coolac Street bike entry, along with other small tasks that will improve our school grounds and create a safer, more welcoming environment for our students. Whether you’re able to help for the whole day or just an hour or two, every bit of help makes a big difference!

If you’re able to join us, please sign in at the garden shed when you arrive, read the induction information and select a task to assist with. This is a great way to meet other families, support our school, and help us achieve these much-needed improvements. No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm!

Being on time is mighty fine!

This is a friendly reminder to all families of the importance of ensuring students arrive at school before 9am. Teachers notice how arriving on time significantly impacts a child’s attitude to learning for the day and their confidence levels. It is worth considering how just missing just 10 minutes each day, can add up to over 30 hours of lost learning time over a school year. Studies have shown that students who frequently arrive late can fall behind in critical literacy and numeracy skills, leading to gaps in learning that can be hard to close. Arriving on time helps children start their day in a calm, prepared manner and allows them to engage fully in the day’s instruction.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing many of you at the Working Bee, Sat 16th!
