Kitchen Garden
Last week we started our tour of international cuisine.
First stop... India with some butternut and onion bhajis.
Bhajis are a perfect crispy snack consisting of onion and chickpea flour batter bursting with flavoursome spices, such as tumeric and cumin.
Students in 56A also used their senses to identify 10 spices used in Indian cooking.
This morning the aroma of spices filled the kitchen. Students in 5/6A made a delicious serving of falafel and hommus dip. Crispy on the outside with a smooth and flavoursome centre.
Falafel ingredients:chickpeas, parsley leaves, coriander leaves, onions, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, baking powder, plain flour and water.
Hommus ingredients: chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini, clove of garlic, cumin, salt, cold water.
