Dear families,
Final call form Next Athletics registrations, commencing next Tuesday 3:30pm / 4:30pm
We are pleased to let you know that St Mary’s Primary School will be a convenient host location for Athletics Australia’s new junior development program, Next Athletics, commencing in Term 3. The program provides game-based learning and coaching to develop skills in running, jumping and throwing which become transferable to a large variety of sports and athletic events. The after-school program is a fantastic opportunity to keep children active, improve their fitness and skill, and build friendships.
Who: Level 2, (Students aged between Prep and Year 2)
When: Term 3, Tuesdays 3:45-4:45pm straight after school dismissal, commencing 23rd July to 10 September (8 weeks)
Who: Level 3, (Students aged between Year 3 and Year 6)
When: Term 3, Tuesdays 4:45pm-5:45pm (following Prep - Year 2 session), commencing 23rd July to 10 September (8 weeks)
Term 3 registration is $176, and can be booked at https://nextathletics.com.au/ (select St Mary’s St Kilda as the location, and book either Level 2 or Level 3). Please see website or the attached flyer for further information.
Chess Club Term 3, Thursday 11:10am
Chess Club continues in Term 3, each Thursday at 11:10am (during recess).
Taekwondo Term 3, Wednesday 3:30pm

Italian Day Tuesday 6th August
On Tuesday 6th August St Mary’s will be celebrating all things Italian. Students will be asked to come dressed in the colours of the Italian Flag: Dark Green, White and/or Red. Students will participate in activities such as Bocce, Pasta Art, Tombola and Pizza Making.
You are all warmly invited to our morning Showcase, where your children will share aspects of their learning during the semester. The morning will commence at 9:05am in the flexible space, above the Year 5/6 classrooms. Each year level will be performing diverse activities ranging from role plays, singing, dancing, dialogues and fun facts about the earth.
On this day students will also be given the opportunity to make their own Margherita Pizza and eat it, as well as have a tasting of a small Italian Gelato, in a cup. The flavours being Cioccolato or Fragola. (strawberry)
An Operoo has been sent seeking parent permission for students to participate in the pizza making class, please respond by the due date. We are also looking for some parents to assist with the pizza making, if you are available for part or the whole of the day please indicate also on the Operoo form.
Green & Gold Day, Friday 2nd August
Our school will be acknowledging Green & Gold Day on Friday 2nd August. On this day we will have some special activities planned for the children as the Paris olympics kick off and we get ready to cheer on our Aussies. On this day, children may come to school dressed in the colours of Green & Gold.
