On Sunday morning, our musicians had the exciting opportunity to work with Kate Miller-Heidke as part of an open rehearsal and Q&A. The session included rehearsals with our Primary soloists, Ruby Cao and Leila Geere, Allegria strings (together with Old Collegian Jess Postle on the drum-kit) and members of Canzona. Following these rehearsals, our Music Extension students, Sophie Lloyd and Chloe Noon performed for Kate and received valuable feedback.
Congratulations to all our musicians who performed at our annual On the Green event on Sunday. From the opening sets by our Year 12 soloists, Sophie Lloyd and Chloe Noon, to the delightful Big Band featuring soloist Arwen Abad, the talent at Clayfield College was exceptional.
It was especially remarkable to see our Year 6 students, Leila Geere and Ruby Cao, perform with such confidence and precision alongside Kate Miller-Heidke. The string and percussion accompaniment by Allegria strings and Old Collegian Jess Postle added a special touch to the afternoon, while members of Canzona enriched Kate’s iconic song Zero Gravity with beautiful harmonies. Additionally, Year 12 student Chloe Noon contributed a stunning solo harmony. We are immensely proud of our musicians.
