Jenes for Genes/Green and Gold Day

A reminder it is Jenes for Genes Day tomorrow, raising money and awareness for research into Genetic Disorders or Birth Defects in children to find cures so kids can get back to being kids.

All students are also invited to wear, green and gold ribbons, green and gold socks, their favourite Australian jersey, or an Australian team hat to celebrate the Australian Olympic team in Paris. Please note this will also be Jeans for Genes Day, so students will also be wearing denim jeans and jackets. Students are not allowed to wear green and gold earrings, jewellery or face paint

Year 9 BATYR Incursion

This week, Year 9 students attended an incursion from BATYR who seek to empower young people to talk about mental health. As a youth-led organisation, BATYR presenters have the unique ability to connect and engage with our students. By talking openly about struggles, we can face at certain points in our lives, we can collectively reduce the stigma around mental health, anxiety, and stress. Please take the time to talk with your child about their experience with BATYR and look at their website for more information and resources to continue an open conversation at home.

Blazers, Hats, Ties and Ribbons

Our uniform focus is now on blazers, hats, ties, and ribbons. Please talk with your child about the expectations below. Infringements will be given to students who are not meeting these expectations:

  • Blazers and hats must be worn when entering and exiting the College grounds. Staff and House Captains will be on duty at the gates to give infringements to students who are not wearing the correct uniform.
  • Ties must be worn up to the collar, and top buttons are to be secured.
  • A green ribbon or scrunchie needs to be worn when hair is tied up.

The Big Chop

Every year hundreds of Australians in the community take on the challenge of Losing their Locks to help raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer research. By taking part in Lose Your Locks, the money funded goes towards supporting bold science that has the greatest chance of clinical success to improve childhood cancer treatments.
