Senior Years Update
Our senior students have returned to Term 3 with great enthusiasm and our Y12 students have already successfully completed their English Oral assessments.
Last week we were excited to introduce our Homegroup Olympics initiative, which aims to inspire students to embody the Olympic mission and values in their daily lives at Shelford and to reflect and work on their ‘Olympic Attitude’.
Over the next five weeks, students will delve into stories of resilience, strength, determination, and perseverance from historic Olympic wins, comebacks, and setbacks. They will also participate in their own mini-Olympic events to determine the winning Olympic homegroup, culminating in an Olympic-themed wellbeing session in Week 5.
In their individual wellbeing programs last week, the Year 11 students continued their study skills program with a session on effectively unpacking examination questions, VCAA command terms, and utilising VCAA assessor reports to enhance their written responses. This week and the next, they will start exploring their sexual health curriculum, covering topics on consent and contraception.
Our Year 12 students began their wellbeing program with a reflective Chapel session. During our first chapel, we explored the impact students wished to make on the world, while in this session, students focused on the impact others had made on them. This included an activity where students wrote letters to individuals who had left a positive lasting impact on their lives.
We are eagerly anticipating a busy and productive term ahead.
