Year 7 Update

It’s wonderful to see our Year 7 students returning to school refreshed and energised for the start of Term 3. The positive energy and enthusiasm is always wonderful to return to after a break.

We began our term with an engaging wellbeing session, where our focus turned to selecting a word for the term to guide us. After thoughtful discussion, we unanimously chose resilience. This choice was inspired by the students' reflections on their journey so far; they shared how they've been navigating and overcoming various challenges. While they acknowledge the hurdles they’ve already cleared, they  are also aware of the ones yet to come. This awareness and the strength they've shown in facing these obstacles highlight their growing resilience.

Moreover, our conversation led us to the importance of goal setting and developing habits that support these goals. It was incredibly rewarding to witness each student set meaningful and personal objectives, coupled with habits designed to help them succeed. This exercise not only emphasised the significance of resilience but also reinforced the value of proactive and intentional growth.

Looking ahead, we are excited to continue exploring the theme of resilience in Chapel next week. This will provide an opportunity for deeper reflection and discussion on how we can strengthen our resilience even further.

I am very excited for the term ahead and the wonderful opportunities the Year 7 students will embrace.
