Acting Principal’s Message

Mrs Kathlene Fenton

Dear Parents and carers,

It was wonderful to see all the students with their crazy hair and socks on Friday for the annual socktober fundraising day. There was certainly some fantastic spiders, pretty bows and colourful mohawks. Friday afternoon the students enjoyed taking part in the socktober ball challenge where they kicked off with balls that they had made in class out of recycled clothing, bags and string. On the day Cox was just too good for Namoi and they ended up taking first and second place. Even though Cox came away victorious all students enjoyed the competition. Thankyou for the gold coin donations on the day. As you know Socktober is a program exclusively run by Catholic Mission, and raises funds for programs benefiting children around the world. Each year, Catholic Mission chooses a focus country to represent how the funds raised through Socktober will benefit children overseas. In 2023, the money we raised will help children and families in Timor-Leste.

Whole school swimming

Swimming for the whole school begins this week Wednesday from 12:30 - 1:15. Make sure kids pack their swimmers, a towel and goggles on the day.

Year 7 orientation

Three of our year 6 students had the opportunity to visit St Mary’s in Gunnedah last week in preparation for year 7 next year. They had a really fun day with lots of new experiences. The students will be going to St Mary’s again this Friday and I am sure they will have another great day.

Assembly

Assembly will be held on Friday at 2:30 in the infants space. This week kindergarten will be presenting at assembly.

Happy birthday to Mrs Jo Tailby who celebrates her birthday today and to Mrs Kathlene Fenton whose special day is Saturday 4th November. We hope you both have an amazing day!

Kind regards

Kathlene Fenton
