Early Speech Development

Our knowledgeable local speech pathologist, Lucy from Snowy Valleys Speech Pathology is kindly hosting “Speechie Library Talks” at the Tumbarumba Library this Monday, 6th November at 10.30. It is a short presentation and chat about the importance of early language and literacy. We encourage all families with children aged 0-6 years to attend. This information would also be helpful for anyone with children in K/1 who may need a few ideas for developing their child’s language skills.

We know there are strong links between good listening, understanding, and speaking skills and the successful acquisition of literacy.  Language difficulties in the early years may predispose a child to ongoing reading difficulties throughout childhood and adolescence.

We hope many of you can pop in for a cuppa and biscuits and make the most of this valuable opportunity.
