Wellbeing Officer

Hello,

I have hit the ground running with a warm welcome and introduction right on National Mental Health Month. As such, we have had a big month with a number of in-class sessions delivered, focusing on problem-solving, perspective-taking, emotional regulation and leadership. The grade 5’s have commenced the term with a focus on leadership in preparation for school captain interviews and appointments for 2024. Each and every grade 5 has expressed an interest in a role and have thought of new ideas that they can implement, so it looks like Ms Campbell will have a hard job deciding school captain roles for 2024…I’m glad that’s not my role!

Small group and individual sessions are set to commence next week with an amazing expression of interest from our students.

A new Morning Tea group for parents has kicked off and will run on a fortnightly basis on Tuesdays after school drop off in the staff room (the next parent's morning tea is on Tuesday 14th Nov). There has already been some laughs and interesting discussion over the first morning tea and there is plenty of room for you to join in too!

In addition to letting you know what we have been up to in the wellbeing space, I would like to add a 'Grin and Share it' section to this wellbeing page, so any inspirational quotes, jokes, memes or parenting hacks that you have, I'd love for you to 'grin and share it' with us so we can have a laugh together, gain perspective on an issue or simply share our knowledge around parenting and general wellbeing!
