Foundation Class

Preps Reporting for Beaufort Primary School News

At the start of this term, the Preps embarked on an exciting journey of sentence writing, focusing on informing their readers. As a class, we explored animals that were largely unfamiliar to us. In order to learn about our chosen animals, we completed some research, followed by many lively group discussions to share our knowledge.

The Prep students then had to create sentences that would hold the interest of their reader. These sentences were about the animals physical attributes, habitats, diet, and fascinating facts of information that would leave readers intrigued. Before they could embark on the video-making process, each student had to write down their facts.

They transformed into young reporters, equipped with their homemade microphones, all set to contribute to the 'Beaufort Primary School News.'

Aurora chose to discover the secrets of the zebras, while Edward and Ada wrote great reports on the mysterious leopard. The results of their hard work is in the video below.

This activity has undoubtedly created some budding movie stars in the making. The students enjoyed the process of creating these short videos and were equally excited to see themselves up on the big screen.

NOTE: You may need to turn the volume up as it is not very loud.
