Year 4 Georges River Excursion

We went on a bushwalk with a sheet that had different types of birds and did a bird count. We also got to touch real wild animals, except that they were stuffed. We had cups to collect insects, name and then release them. Our final activity was to paint with ochre and learnt about the Aboriginals. By Hayden 4R

 

My highlight was the room full of taxidermy animals. We got to touch them, and they seemed realistic! I encourage Year 4 to attend this excursion because it’s fun and the activities are wonderful. By Birkita 4R

 

We got to see real life animals that were stuffed and had to socialise and talk about our experience. We also went to the beach and played with the sand. By James 4R

 

The highlight for me was the bug catching session I caught a nymph cockroach. I would recommend this excursion because it’s an opportunity to learn about the environment.

The highlight for me was the taxidermy animals and bones because these types of things interest me a lot and the animals were well-preserved. We also got to touch them. The excursion was so much fun and if you like wildlife, it is definitely for you because of the many animals there were to see! By Nina 4R

 

The best activity for me was touching the animals. I would tell tell future Year 4s to go on the excursion because you get to see birds you have never seen before. By Nicole 4R

 

I saw a snake and caught a beetle. I also saw a dead fox. Future Year 4s should go to learn and discover new things. By Lui 4R

 

I looked at the frog because it was cute and the pond had tadpoles. For the future Year 4s, it is fun because you get to find things and walk around. By Anaisha 4H

 

My favourite was the real snake, a fake bird a koala and the skin of an animal which was so soft. It was cool because there was a story behind it. By Sam 4H

 

For me, the bird spotting was the highlight because we got to see the Australian native birds. I would tell future Year 4s that you will do fun activities and have the best time with the instructors. By Aolyana 4H

 

My highlight for Georges River is bird spotting. This is because it helps us to notice more stuff around us. I would tell future Year 4s that they should go because it is important to learn about being eco-friendly. The excursions they provided was fun. By Kevin 4H

 

My best highlight was touching fake animals that were so fluffy. I would tell future Year 4s to go on this excursion because it’s fun doing bird spotting and ochre painting. The sprinkler was so funny. By Angela 4H

 

My highlight for the excursion was the museum where we aw animals. I would encourage future Year 4s to go on the excursion by telling them how we got to do insect catching and bird spotting. These activities and many others were terrific! By Orlando 4H

 

For me, I liked the birdwatching part because we got to go to the lake and look at some insects nearby too! I would tell future Year 4s to go because you will touch some stuffed animals. By Cadence 4H

 

The highlight for me was bird watching because we got to see beautiful Aussie nature and lovely birds. I would tell future Year 4s to attend the excursion because it’s a good opportunity to experience beautiful Australian wildlife. By River 4H

 

The highlight for me was capturing little bugs like spiders and red cockroaches. I would tell future Year 4s that they should go on the excursion because you get to touch taxidermy animals and watch birds which was amazing! The instructors also showed us how far Georges River was from St Johns Park PS. By Klaresea 4H

 

The highlight of the excursion for me was the bug catching. Our instructor was super funny and kind. We also got to learn about the environment and catch super cool things.
