School Choir
Choir 2026
Welcome to another wonderful year of choir at LNPS! Week 4 marks the beginning of choir rehearsals. We look forward to welcoming any student who loves to sing to join us each week at the following times:
Year 1-2 Choir – during lesson time
Cheryl Barker will be working with all the Year 1-2 students as part of the music curriculum to learn how to sing as a team, learn warm-ups for the voice and learn two songs for performance in upcoming school assemblies.
Year 3-4 Choir – 9-9:30am FRIDAY Tirkandi
Informal gathering where students will learn warm-ups for the voice and learn two songs for performance in upcoming school assemblies.
Year 5-6 Choir – Festival of Music – 1:30 – 2:30pm FRIDAY Tirkandi
During this weekly session, students will specifically learn the repertoire required to perform in the Festival of Music in September, when they will take part in a 1200-strong choir of students from different South Australian primary schools at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. There is a one-off participation fee of $80 once students have committed to join.
There are other opportunities as part of the Festival of Music, including:
- Troupe (dance)
- Host (presenters)
- Orchestra
- Street percussion (for the opening song ‘Sing’ ONLY. Students are not required to have any musical background. All are encouraged.)
