Learning & Teaching 2026! 

We warmly welcome all St Kilian’s families to a new year of learning and growth. 

Building on our first year of Magnify Sandhurst, 2026 is a year of consolidating and strengthening the effective teaching practices already embedded across our school. 

We have had a busy start to Term 1, with our beginning-of-year student assessments well underway. This important information supports our teachers to understand each learner and plan targeted, meaningful learning experiences that help every child continue to grow. 

Our classrooms continue to focus on clear, structured, and engaging learning experiences. In the early years, InitiaLit provides strong foundations in reading and writing, while Ochre resources support consistent, high-quality teaching across all year levels. 

We look forward to another year of learning together as a faith-filled community, supporting each child to grow academically, socially and spiritually. 

NAPLAN 2026 

NAPLAN will take place Week 7, 8 & 9 this term for students in Years 3 and 5 and will be conducted over a three-week period. The students will be engaging in some NAPLAN familiarisation lessons in the lead up to this assessment.  

Families with a child in Year 3 or Year 5 will receive further detailed information directly, and additional updates will also be shared in the newsletter in the weeks leading up to testing. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher.
