Juniors and Seniors 

In Visual Arts this term the Junior & Senior students will be focusing on illustrations and how they can tell stories in art. They will explore literature, which will lead nicely into Book Week coming up in early August. Some of the authors/ illustrators we will explore include Eric Carle, Shaun Tan, Peter Reynolds and Dr Suess. 

We will analyse the elements of art -  colour, shape, texture, line, space, form and value.  We will discover what mediums they use such as paint, water colour, pastel and charcoal and try our hand at using these.

Middles

In Visual Arts this term students have been exploring collage. Collage comes from the French word coller, which means to glue. Collage is a technique of assembling parts to create an image. This context provides opportunity for students to learn about art elements, such as, colour, shape and texture, as well as art principles, such as, composition, space and proportion. Students have already completed two collages with great success!
