Ms Belinda's Message

Term 3 has been off to a busy and exciting start! Here is a snapshot of what has been happening over the past fortnight.

100 Days of Prep: It was a delight to see our Prep students celebrate their 100th day of school last week and proudly share their celebrations with our school community at assembly. Congratulations to all of our Prep students on an incredible 100 days of learning and growth.

Calm Minds Parent Information Night: Thank you to the parents and carers who joined us for our Calm Minds: Supporting Emotional Regulation in Our Children parent information evening. Tracy shared practical strategies for emotional coaching, the importance of listening deeply to our children, and ways to support them through co-regulation. We sincerely thank Tracy for generously sharing her knowledge and expertise. Please find her presentation attached for those who would like to revisit the information or were unable to attend.

Book Week: Book Week is fast approaching, and we have an exciting program of events planned to celebrate literature. Please refer to the timetable of events included in this newsletter. Most events are open to parents and families; however, please note that the author visit is a student-only incursion. We also encourage families to visit our Lamont Book Fair during the advertised times. Every purchase helps support our school, with proceeds contributing to the purchase of valuable literacy resources for our students.

VCEA message: Please see attached a letter from the Victorian Catholic Education Authority outlining the work that is currently underway to secure a funding commitment for capital investment in Victorian Catholic schools.  This would support ongoing improvements to our schools and provision of new schools.

Final Note: Currently, all Catholic schools are working through planning and budgeting activities for 2027 to ensure we are well placed to support our staff, students and school communities in the coming year. This includes looking at how we can accommodate the changes likely to flow from a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) with school staff. We recognise the significant financial pressures many households are facing, and we are making a conscious effort to ensure these costs are not passed on through significant fee increases. We will continue to keep our parent community informed throughout this process. As always, our focus remains on maintaining strong school communities and continuing to deliver a high-quality Catholic education for every student.
