Year 3

In Year 3 we began our Geography unit on Continents and Oceans looking at features on a map using the Acronym BOLTSS (Border, Orientation, Legend, Title, Scale and Source). We enjoyed looking at a variety of maps and checking which BOLTSS features they contained. We discussed why having all the features makes it a more reliable map.

In Religion this week, we have been learning about the Creation story, with a focus on how God created humans. We learned that all people are made in the image and likeness of God. Students then created an artwork to show how they are made in God's image.

Year 4 

This Term in Year 4, we have begun our novel study of The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. To celebrate the start of our learning, students had the opportunity to design their very own robots! It was wonderful to see everyone's creativity and imagination come to life.

Year 5

Last Friday, Emma our School Councellor, came to talk about honesty with kindness. She tought us about FIGHT, FLIGHT, FREEZE, and FAWN. These were the things that kids do when they get upset. FIGHT means that you want to be aggresive, FLIGHT means to run away and hide, FREEZE means to stand still and , and finally FAWN, which means to follow the meanies and do nothing about the problem. Over all we all had a fun learning experience, plus we all got to write something kind on a sticky note!

Welcome Our New Spiny Leaf Insects!

We are excited to welcome some fascinating new residents to our STEAM Room – Spiny Leaf Insects!

A big thank you goes to Ms Nardella's daughter, who generously donated these incredible insects to our school. We are very grateful for this wonderful contribution, which will provide our students with many opportunities for hands-on learning.

These amazing insects will support learning across Science and STEAM, encouraging students to ask questions, make observations and develop their understanding of living things through real-world experiences.

If your child visits the STEAM Room, be sure to ask them if they managed to spot our new leafy friends—they're experts at hiding!
