Club de Español 

Our Spanish Club is a wonderful opportunity for our children to practice Spanish, have fun and connect with each other outside the classroom. 

We are looking for more parent and carer volunteers to help us organizing the next round of activities. There are no limits to what we can do! Activities could include outdoor games, crafts, cooking, art, sports, music, games or anything else you think the children would enjoy. 

The activities don’t need to be specifically related to Latin America or Spain — the most important thing is that the activity gives the children a chance to use and enjoy Spanish in a relaxed and fun environment. If you have an idea, we just need to know in advance what materials, equipment, space or other support you will need, and we can help organize it.

What’s coming up?

We are excited to share the next Spanish Club activities:

August 3 - 

Volcanoes : A fun science and craft activity where children create and erupt                                                    volcanoes!

August 10 - 

Pancito Chileno : A special hands-on cooking activity where children will bake                                                          traditional Chilean bread alongside a wonderful grandmother from our                                      community while sharing stories and culture

August 17 - 

Decoration of Fans: Learn about the tradition and history of Spanish hand fan while                                                      decorating your own beautiful fan 

August  24-  

NO CLUB THIS DAY -Spanish Sub-Committee Meeting

August 31 - 

Colombian Rhythms: Bailamos?: Learn  about the vibrant rhythms of Colombia                                                                                       through a little history, music and dance.

We encourage parents to talk about the activities with their children before coming along, so they can choose something they are genuinely interested in and excited to participate in. 

Remember: Everyone is welcome! Our Spanish Club is an open club run by volunteer parents, reason why we ask that every child attending is accompanied by an adult. This helps us keep the activities safe, enjoyable and manageable for everyone.

If you have an idea for an activity or would like to volunteer to organize one, please get in touch. ¡Cuantos más, mejor! We would love to have more families involved and create even more opportunities for our children to enjoy speaking Spanish together.
