2025 Snowsports Programs

This week saw the end of the Downhill Snowsports program for 2025. We were lucky enough to have plenty of snow throughout the season and minimal bad weather to deal with.

I’d like to thank Lenny Comerford for all his organisation. Lenny is always well organised, prepared for any situation and has multiple back up options ready if needed.

We are indebted to the staff and parents who volunteered to assist on the program. Without them giving their time to attend, the program would not be able to run as it currently does. And of course, I have to thank the students for their efforts to uphold the school values and follow the program rules.

The Cross Country program also finished this week, with the students involved learning new techniques and skills. I’d like to thank Snow Australia for allowing their coach, Jacob Huseby, to assist with the program. Jacob is passionate about increasing participation in the sport. I hope there will be enough students wishing to participate in the future so we can run a Year 7/8 session and a Year 9/10 session next year. I’d also like to thank Andy Stafford for all his assistance and boundless enthusiasm on the program as well. And I can’t forget the students – thank you for helping make these sessions so much fun and a most enjoyable afternoon.

End of Term 3 Progress Reports

The last cycle of Progress Reports for this term will be made available next week (Week 8) via Compass, on Friday the 12th of September at about 4pm. These reports help to monitor student learning habits in class. All students should be able to achieve a level of 3, which means they are working at the expected level. A fifth behaviour is assessed in the End of Term reports, being Home Study Habits, which assesses habits relating to homework being completed and submitted on time.

Term 3 Conferences

Formerly Parent Teacher interviews

Don’t forget to book in for our Term 3 Conferences, being held on Monday 15th September from 4 – 7pm. This event provides families with the opportunity to talk to their child’s teachers and to engage with their learning at our school.

Bookings can be made through Compass.

Please call the office if you need assistance with this.

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey (PCGOS)

This survey is open until Friday 19th September. Families were emailed a survey link and login details through a Compass email on Friday 22/8 at 5.15pm and I will continue to send out reminder emails until the survey closes. Please keep an eye out for those.

Currently we have received 6 more responses since last week, a total of 18 responses or 16% of our families contributing.

Project Updates

The VSBA financial delegate has appointed Johns Lyng Makesafe Emergency Builders (Victoria) Pty Ltd as the contractor for this project. A startup meeting will occur in the near future, which means the project ahead of schedule.

Project works for the accessible upgrades funding will begin next week, causing minimal impact to normal school operations. Further works will commence in the last week of term, with more details coming shortly.
