Wellbeing

As we reach the end of Term 3, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a busy and rewarding start in my role as Wellbeing and Inclusion Leader. Over the term we have:

  • Launched small-group wellbeing sessions, focusing on areas such as preparing for camp, social skills, and managing anxiety.
  • Introduced lunchtime wellbeing clubs, offering calming and creative activities where students can connect and recharge.
  • Worked with individual students to support their wellbeing needs in more depth, and also helped strengthen peer connections through group or buddy-based activities (so students feel more supported by each other).
  • Continued work on implementing the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework.

This week, I’ve been working closely with student groups to identify wellbeing-focused projects for Term 4. These ideas are driven by student voice and interest, and I’m looking forward to sharing more next term as the projects come to life.

A Note on the Holidays & Things to Do Locally

The upcoming break is a wonderful chance to rest, recharge and share special time together. Here are some fun holiday ideas around Caulfield (and beyond), plus general suggestions:

Caulfield & nearby ideas:

  • The Caulfield & District Netball Association is running school holiday programs with netball drills, games and fun time on court.
  • Sportzbuzz Holiday Programs are offering sports-based activities in Caulfield for children (3-10yo) with games, fitness and friends.
  • Hide & Speech in Caulfield South is running “Holiplay” (4-7yrs), “Flexers” (8-11yrs), “Thinkers” (12+) programs: fun, inclusive, with a focus on social skills and play.
  • Paint for Fun workshops in Caulfield East — there are things like Carnival of Colours, Dinosaurs Are Back, Masks and Faces etc. These are art-workshops you can register for.
  • Holiday show & camps via “SchoolHolidayActivities.com.au” — they list some STEM / robotics / tech / creative camps around Melbourne during the term break. Good for a full-day novelty.
  • Free & low-cost family-friendly events via What’s On Melbourne — exhibitions, workshops around town, “Kids & Family” events listing for the school holidays.

I hope each of you has a restful and joyful holiday with your family. Thank you for your ongoing support—looking forward to continuing our wellbeing work in Term 4.

Warm wishes,

Joanne Weston
