Musica Viva

Last Friday, our College was honoured to welcome the Musica Viva Wyniss Ensemble for a captivating performance. Drawing inspiration from Torres Strait Islander songs and dances, their presentation offered our students an enriching exploration into the heritage of traditional games, dance forms, musical expressions, attire, and instruments. Engaging actively, our students delighted in spinning tops, mastering string figures, joining in song and dance, and embracing various other cultural activities. Through this immersive experience, they also had the opportunity to reflect on their own childhood pastimes, comparing them to those cherished in the Torres Strait Islands. It was wonderful to see our students deepen their appreciation for these traditions and understand their significance.
