Dear Families,
The turf installation at our school is officially done, and we're thrilled with the outcome! The space is transformed and seeing our students enjoy it is absolutely delightful.
On Tuesday, June 4th, we had a special visit from our local MP, Nick Staikos, who was thoroughly impressed with the play area. To commemorate the occasion, he took a few photos with some Year 6 students.
Our school is excited for the children who will be able to enjoy their new playing area.
The new turf was made possible by the $100 000 donation from the office of Nick Staikos, along with further contributions received from P & F fundraising.
Kassia (3F) will be participating in the GO PINK! for breast cancer fundraiser this June and in her support, OPS will be having a PJ Day on Wednesday 26th June. All students are invited to wear their PJs and bring their favourite fluffy toy along to school. Gold coins will be collected by the class teachers to help Kassia raise funds for this very important and worthy cause. There is also a QR code should you wish to make bigger donations.
To see the flyer and QR code, please go to the separate 'PJs & Fluffy Toy Day' in this edition of the newsletter.
A friendly reminder that our new OSHC provider, TheirCare, will be running an information session in the school hall tonight. All parents are invited to attend even if not currently using the service.
To facilitate parents being able to attend, April and Effie have kindly offered to provide childcare in the Art room and STEAM room for the students so parents can attend. The extra care will be at no additional cost to families.

We are very excited to be able to introduce music into the school next term. Initially the students will be able to enjoy a 10-week program of ready-made curriculum music lessons that can be delivered by classroom teachers.
The program is provided by an experienced company called Amplify, who have been presenting the program for many years. The company has very positive feedback and the program is enjoyed by the students and teachers. The teachers will facilitate the on-line lessons into the classroom and in doing so, will also become more skilled in the teaching of music.
We will commence the 10 lessons at the beginning of next term. There will be a small charge to parents for the program.
We are looking forward to hearing music being taught across the school. If you would like to google Amplify, the link is https://amplifymusiceducation.com.au/.
Take care,
Cheryle
