Middle School Bradford is sharing the learning taking place in their class…
In the past week, M28 along with the whole school were privileged to engage in the World of Maths incursion. Students were grouped and worked collaboratively to solve a range of activities. These activities required the students to think outside the square. It was wonderful to see the students working together to problem solve and observe the different strategies they all used.
These were the student’s favourite Maths activities;
Waleed, Anmol, Daniel, Bailey, Eli, Logan and Rj enjoyed the pack up box task where they had to make different sized shapes fit into a box to make a square.
Vihara and Tayla loved the monkey race where you had to race monkeys down through bars and count how many times a flash went off to see which monkey came first.
Olivia and Emily loved the Big Foot game where you have to navigate a map using small feet to get to a destination.
Niayesh loved the Going Up game where you had to follow instructions to figure out what level a girl was on.
Ej, Imogen and Aakriti loved the Build a Bridge game where you had to build a bridge between two pillars using blocks and get them to balance to bridge the gap.
Thea loved the Where’s Katie activity where she had to use locations to find Katie.
Oromia enjoyed the Bricks game where you had to use blocks to make mirror images.
Alex enjoyed the Hexagon task where you had to put the hexagon in a space with the red piece in a specific spot.
It has already been a busy term with so much more still to do so stay tuned...
