Teaching and Learning

Modern History

The Year 11 Modern History class recently went on an excursion to the State Library of Victoria. The students took part in a VCE Research Skills Workshop, where they learnt valuable skills to conduct proper research for their upcoming SAC. Students also took part in a Library tour, where they visited the Redmond Barry Reading Room, and the La Trobe Reading Room. Everyone had an amazing time!

Design Technology

Our students in Year 9 Design Technology have just completed their sweets dispenser. While every student was given the same size piece of timber, you can see that each student came up with a very individual design.

Students were able to personalise all aspects of the dispenser through engraved designs on the timber and acrylic, obstacles, size of the dial, and painted finish. Each sweets dispenser was tested with m&m’s at the end to make sure it was functional.

Students in Year 10 Design Technology have just completed a puck game. They could choose which joint they used to construct the frame, with most students choosing between a mitre and rebate joint.

Accuracy was important in the construction of the framework, to ensure sure that the game was square and sat flat. To personalise the game, students used the laser to create team pucks and team symbols on the base.

Music

Music Concert

The Year 7 and 8 Music Concert was held on Wednesday May 15th in our PAC Theatre. After a culmination of weeks of hard work from our students and music teachers, we were treated to some wonderful performances. Please enjoy some of the photos!
