Café program

Columba students are currently participating in the Café program where they help out in the canteen for five days during periods 2 - 5.

If I had to sum up the Cafe Program in a single word, it would be "superb." The experience was just so enjoyable from the beginning until the very end. Working in the Cafe environment for an entire week gave me understanding and knowledge about the vast work within the culinary arts. As well as that, I gained perspective and a deeper knowledge into the demanding and tricky, yet exciting career pathway of hospitality. The highlight of the program was definitely working at the cash registers; I loved the mathematical aspect. Along with that, handling food and whipping up the delicious meals was also super fun. To my surprise, there really wasn't anything I found challenging,  my peers and I had the best of assistance and guidance we needed. Overall, I think the program has been a valuable part of my studies.

I have acquired many skills. Without a single doubt, I can say that the entire Program was an amazing opportunity and something I would love to do again.

Being a part of backstage for the Musical has been a delightful experience so far. Participating in backstage has allowed me to meet new people. It has also allowed me to delve into my creative side a bit more. Being able to have fun while making the sets and preparing the props while also making new bonds with different people and conversing with friends has been a positive. Aside from props, sets and costumes, the makeup aspect is just as fun as we’re able to hang out with people in the Musical itself, it allows everyone to get to know each other.
